Presently, our academy can accommodate 20 beds. We hope to increase our
capacity to help more kids as God provides. We have sufficient acreage for a new dorm and school building to be built. The boy's academy is located on 20 acres of
beautiful land just outside of Panama City, Florida. It is here that youth learn to work hard, play hard, and study hard.

The boys are expected to be ready for room and uniform inspections at any time of  the day. They are taught all tasks with firmness, but with patience, instilling discipline in a Godly way- which is vital to achieve complete success and change in the youth.

Discipline and character is what is lacking most in youth today. Our program conducts military drill formations and exercises designed to promote teamwork, and listening skills. All responses are accompanied by sir- "Yes, sir" or "No, sir". Performance of all tasks are monitored closely and awarded by skill levels of achievement and rank which will be displayed on uniforms once they are achieved. This promotes self-motivation and determination which are much needed ingredients for all of life's endeavors.

 

 

Goals- An important part of life is goal setting. The boy's will learn to set and reach goals while they are here.

Respect- Young men are taught to respond in a respectful manner at all times, and display positive attitudes to all authority, and to each other.

Responsibility- This is taught through a variety of work tasks designed to teach the boys to always "do their best work," and to award outstanding effort and performance.

Work Skills- Boys are gainfully employed in the gardens located on the property where they grow a great deal of their own food.

 

Life Skills- The young men will also have opportunities to learn about construction, mechanics, agriculture, and caring for domestic farm animals.

Military Structure- The military training will provide a necessary balance in their lives that they will never forget. Kids today need an old fashioned work ethic.

 

Religious Values- Other qualities taught are: repentance and the importance of developing a relationship with God, developing a relationship with others, personal resolve, and moral integrity to make right decisions.

Heritage Boys Academy offers a comprehensive diagnostic test to see where
each child is educationally. Each child is placed in a self paced program designed to help him strengthen his weak areas and progress toward graduation.

Many of our young men have graduated receiving a high school diploma from
our approved high school curriculum. We also offer a GED program. Education is based on a case by case evaluation of each youth. Because of our high staff to student ratio, we are able to offer tutoring in weak areas, and get each child back on track educationally. We also offer many options for vocational training in technical areas such as mechanics, agriculture, farming, construction, landscaping, and other skills.
